Laptop help please. £500 budget

Hi.

Looking at buying a laptop for word documents, Internet, Music and Videos but no games.

I've seen this Toshiba Laptop with the following spec:

# Intel Core Duo T2050 Processor 1.6GHz
# 533 MHz FSB
# 2 MB Cache
# 1024MB DDR RAM
# 60 GB Hard Drive
# DVD ReWriter SuperMulti
# 15.4" Widescreen TruBrite Display
# Microsoft Windows Media Center
# 128mb Intel UMA 945 integrated Graphics
# 1 year FREE warranty

I can get it for £450 which is ideal for my budget.

What are Toshiba laptops like? Can I get better for my money?

Not bad, but HD size is a bit skimpy. If it had a 100GB it'll be a bargain. They've fitted a decent processor instead of single core Mobile Pentium + 100GB (those go for similar price) at least with yours you could replace drive straight away, get a 100GB plus use that 40GB in a 2.5" enclosure. Suitable GFX for office/windows/DVD though.

Toshibas are good laptops, decent keyboards.

Well tbh I don't really need much more than 60Gb of space tbh, so that's not a problem. Just curious as to whether it poses good value for money and will be quite quick etc

Just recommended this laptop to a mate last week whos been asking me to keep an eye out for one round the £500 mark. Decent spec and should be ideal for what you wanting it for. I looked around loads of sites and that one seems to be the best in that price range - which is suprising considering where you'll be getting it from

Yeah...I get it for £450 after a bit of the ol' discount so I think I'm set on it...just hope it's in stock
