Laptop help please

Got an acer 3613 with Celeron M 370 processor. The chipset is a 910GML. I wanted to add a bit of horsepower and bought a Pentium M 715. The recommended chipset for this processor is the 855. As far as I know they are the same pin config, but I cannot seem to get the 715 to work. Am I missing something

I checked on 910GML upgrade compatibility and it looks like s478 chips should work ok. I was just wondering if anyone has upgraded thier 910GML laptop. I got the latest bios, but it won't flash. Will try again and if successful try the 715 again. Mabye the chip is borked. No way to test it.
