basically my friend has brought me there acer aspire e1-571 which they spilt tea on by the touch pad and the screen went funny it then once turned on would turn the power light on hdd spins and turn straight back off and on again in a loop with a black screen
ive stripped it cleaned it and left at room temperature for two days gone to boot and it booted so went on factory reset and its gone back to same state black screen turning on and off again with black screen where was a slight bit of contact on the board which i cleaned near the touch pad ive cleaned that if i give it a good blow around the chips that were affected it will boot again but once off does the same again its really puzzled me

my next step will be to throw some heat on it around that area with my solder station hot air gun what do you guys think its driving me nuts phoned me mate up aswell he was well chuffed now im back to square one thanks

any help will be apreciated thanks

I have recently had an issue with my Dell XPS laptop. Effectively it has been bluescreening and then not outputing anything to the display. I have been on the verge of binning the thing until I read about "rebaking " the solder around the GPU which is attached to the motherboard. I have now had the back off, removed the heatsinks and blasted hot air from the Mrs hairdryer around the GPU. I also reapplied some thermal compound.

Low and behold after reassembly the thing boots and screen fires up. I have now done this a couple of times, yesterday being the latest when I gave it a good long bake. It ran for several hours stable.

so not quite the same issue as you have but perhaps a similar solution.

ive come to the conclusion that the graphics is at fault due to the tea shorting it as they had a funny screen when it happened so a new motherboard is getting ordered
