Recently my laptop has been running slow I know that I do not have enough RAM and the HD isn't brilliant. I cannot find what upgrade parts are available to me as I do not know what the motherboard can support RAM speed wise and HD speed and type.

Any help much appreciated, It is a R50e Think pad.

Thanks

have you tried a reinstall/using the restore cds ?

No need it working with all my stuff until I do my exams, then I will do a format, but would like to do it with newer parts if possible to maximise the benefit. :)

I was thinking of Travelstar 7k100 60gb ATA6 - 2.5in 7200RPM 8MB. From a 2mb 4200rpm drive should be good (dont need mega space) and CRUCIAL 512MB DDR PC2700 200-PIN SODIMM 333MHz adds another 256mb ram (have to take a 256mb stick out). Will this give me an improvment. :)

Oh this would cost around £90. Is this worthwhile?

You would have to check for compatibility for all the new hardware you are planning to buy, I would suggest buying a new laptop. I don't know much about laptops but that is my suggestion.

Well I know the ram will work as it is the same speed etc s my current stuff, and I presume that the hard drive will work as it is a ATA100 same as what is in now?
