Laptop Help

I recently purchased a laptop, its a nice shiny HP Pavilion tx1250ea.

Its great, light, small and just powerful enough for what i want it for.

However, I have noticed that when the laptop has just the battery plugged in and I shut down, the fan continues to run full wack on and off until I take the battery out.

It doesn't do this while the AC adapter is plugged in.

I have had a quick browse round but can't find anything to help? Its probably something so blazingly obvious I haven't thought of it!

Any ideas?

i would check to see if there is a bios update for it failing that it sounds like a fault if the unit is powering off completely but the fan still runs
