laptop help

hi

im looking to get a new laptop as my old dell xps m1210 is busted and its out of warranty being bout 4-5 years old.

anyway i was looking to get a high end laptop at around £800 but then i thought do i really need to pay that much for my needs which is only basic surfing the web , burning picture dvds from holiday snaps and playing a little football manager.

im really stuck on what make i should go for as i want something that is reliable and if a problem does acur a company that has good service for repairs.

i was thinking dell or sony , my budget is £500 which i can stretch to £550

is the dell studio 15 anygood ?

if you can strech a little more the sony e series laptops can be had for just over £600 and seem pretty decent.

Wouldn't have thought you'd need a dedicated graphics card for fm10, may be wrong however. Sony vaio e series can be had for less than 500. Samsung r530, v similar spec to the new Sony e series nut bit cheaper.

let us know what you get , im not going to be getting a new laptop until later this year but i do have my sights set on the studio 17.

if anyone has a studio 17 is the wireless card got a good range?
