Laptop insurance

Hi all

Looking at getting a new laptop soonish (probably a Samsung Q45) and am wanting to insure it as it will be used at college a lot and the like.

I'm confused as to whether home contents insurance will cover this or not... our household is covered by Halifax home contents...

I am aware companies on google come up to offer it seperately but they never seem to look particularly reliable...anyone had any experience with this before?

Don't know if this is much help.. but our natwest home contents insurance covers our laptops... so shouldn't see why Halifax's wouldn't.

Does it cover them for accidental damage or the like though?

yeh it does , dropped my laptop down the stairs ( Socks + Wood Floor + Running )

and got £1600 caching !
