Anyone here got a laptop insurance policy seperate from their standard home contents cover?

I'm (hopefully) about to buy a new Ultima laptop with a retail value of £1400 and I'll be taking it everywhere with me including the USA and Europe.

Does anyone here have any recommendations on a good policy / company to go for or alternatively have any horror stories and companies to avoid?

Just been doing some Googling and I'm seeing a few companies that can cover my laptop (worldwide) for around £7.50 to £10 per month. I think this is pretty reasonable but wary of the situation of no-payouts in the event of me trying to claim.

Thanks

I'll start having a look at this on Monday as I'm sure there are others who would want something like this.

Will probably take a while though as terms/prices have to be agreed so you might be better looking elsewhere temporarily.

Excellent. Yes I'll be going to another company to get it insured right away (it's looking good so far for placing an order on Monday by the way).

I think this will definitely be of interest to others and be another reason to place an order with you guys rather than competitors.

Also, albeit off topic, have you considered approaching mobile broadband providers to see if some deal can be struck as to discounts if signing up to a contract?

If this was set up already and you could buy an Ultima with insurance and a mobile broadband contract (with discount) I would have placed an order already ;)

Just a thought
