Laptop keeps dying on me

I have a Toshiba Satellite which keeps shutting down randomly.

I've left it for a while, and I recently wiped the hard drive and put a fresh install of Windows 7 on it. This worked for about a day, until it started doing it again.

What could be the cause? It does get fairly warm, how could I address this?

Clean out the heatsink for a start. If it's out of warranty, get the screwdriver out
