Laptop keeps overheating

What have you tried so far, most common reason is the heatsink vents will be blocked up inside. What make and model is it?
its lenovo g555 its not like the fan is getting blocked or anything but it constantly runs very fast and loud things i have tried, Sitting it on top of things(so air flows underneath), holding it in mid air for a bit(no idea why i did this) and other numerous things.
Oh and its fairly new got it 2 weeks before Christmas.

Sounds like a fault with the cooling module to me, is it blowing cold air out even under load?
take it back get a replaement, if that has the same issue get a different model...
a laptop that new its a mfg fault or something you need to take the machine appart to fix which would void your warranty

Yes contact their customer services and take it from there, you may have to deal with them or Lenovo directly, they will confirm the fault and should get it uplifted for a repair.
First make sure the CPU is not stuck at 100% (or very high) usage all the time..
then if its not call them...
