Hi, my laptop can't stay on long before it overheats and turns itself off tried loads of things and can't fix it was wondering if you had any more ideas

its lenovo g555 its not like the fan is getting blocked or anything but it constantly runs very fast and loud things i have tried, Sitting it on top of things(so air flows underneath), holding it in mid air for a bit(no idea why i did this) and other numerous things.

Oh and its fairly new got it 2 weeks before Christmas.

take it back get a replaement, if that has the same issue get a different model...

a laptop that new its a mfg fault or something you need to take the machine appart to fix which would void your warranty

yes it is, So what should i do contact Play? what should i tell them just that it keeps overheating?

First make sure the CPU is not stuck at 100% (or very high) usage all the time..

then if its not call them...

"if i turn my laptop on and sit at my desk after about X mins of browsing the internet it overheats and crashes"

"I have tried doing a factory reset"

"nothing on the desk is obstructing the vents"

"I have checked nothing is blocking the vents, and that they are not full of dust"

" I have been doing it since it arrived"

" the CPU is not running at 100% all the time"

Even at 100% load it shouldnt cut off, I would send it back, make sure you backup your stuff first as you will most likely lose it all.
