Quick question :)

Its regarding the connector behind the screen. (not the external output)

Is the old type connector a 20 pin one and the new ones 30 pin?

cheers

Generally they are all 30pin now on standardish screens such as 15.4 and 17", some of the smaller types especially 10-12" can vary. Old 14"/15" non wide screen came in 2 sizes usually.

Yes its an old laptop and just trying to figure out what screen it needs as present one dead :(

Its def the old type due to age and differance from all other laptops i have worked on.

So looks like its a 20 pin one i need then:)

Should be stright forward but that laptop is an american version so having difficulty finding out as ones on bay are for the british version (hp pavillion zt1170 is the one i have)

I know its the same as a versa e400 connector

Just wanted to check before blowing £90 on a screen

cheers mate:)

Already got it stripped down and the connector is different from the usual one i have seen on newer laptops

Here is the one i need...i am guesing its a 20 pin one?

here it is compared to the usual ones

Going by bay usa there are screens there for the zt1170 and zt1175 but i see the listing you mean where it says "data cable pins 30"...confusing:confused:

Its just the guy selling in uk only lists it as for the zt1175

cheers again for your help in this
