Hi all, just after a bit of info from other people who work in IT really.
What sort of logon policy do you have in place for people using laptops?
The reason I ask is that we have a few laptops which staff can book out should they want to do some work at home, or if they need to take them for presentations, or if they just want to work in a quiet room which may not have a PC their and i'm just trying to find out what sort of policy you guys use with regards to them logging on etc.
The laptops are all domain laptops, and can connect to the domain both wirelessly and wired when in our office. But i'm curious to see what is best practice with this.
Is it better to have them all logging on as themselves both in and out of work, or to create a separate log on for them when they are offsite, or just to have on generic logon for each laptop regardless of where they are.
Obviously if they are offsite they will only be able to log onto their laptop if they have previously logged onto it whilst connected to the domain so my thinking was have a generic logon whilst offsite.
Or is it just easier to ensure that if a user wants to take the laptop offsite that they have logged on already whilst connected to the domain?
Sorry if that makes no sense at all lol, waffling on!
