Hi there,
I have a Acer Travelmate 2000.
It came with a single stick of 256mb pc2700 CL 2.5. The lappy its self has 2 memory slots.
I managed to get another 256mb pc2700 stick CL 2.5 from a friend for nothing.
I put the 'new' stick in and got a memory dump when logged into windows. I delected the memory dump option and it still did it once into windows from a fresh restart.
I thought the stick was faulty. So I got another stick, this time a 512MB pc2700 stick. I just tried it in the lappy. Still memory dumping. So I took out the original 256mb pc2700 stick and put the 512mb stick in instead.
Bingo, works fine. Using the lappy to type this with the single stick 512mb.
Would the mobo be borked, not alllowing 2 slots of memory working at once? There is 2 slots so I would have thought that it would'nt be a problem to get 2 sticks?!
