Laptop memory upgrade

I've acquired an old laptop for some casual MMO gaming. I'm not sure it'll cut the mustard though in the long term.

Its a HP G62-A11SA. Its got 1.86mhz Celeron (I think) CPU with intel HD3000 graphics. It runs the games I want but it gets very choppy in places.

It currently has 2GB of RAM. If I upgrade this to 8GB will it make much of a difference?

It will help, yes, but not by a massive margin. It will also highlight the underpowered nature of the rest of the components though so don't expect a huge rise in frame rates.
