Laptop Mobo Change

Not too hard if you take a logical approach and lay all the screws out in the same way you take them out on a desk, best thing to do is draw a few rectangles one for the base, top case and mainboard. Then as you take the screws out place them in the same place on the rectactangles were you took them from.

Connectors for the keyboard and what not are quite delicate, a small flat jewellers screwdriver to pop them up should be ok, they will either lift up or slide a few mm out allowing the cable to be released, some such as speakers cables just pull out but again be carefull then can dissentergrate easilty.

Seperateing the case once all the screws are out is just a case of using something like a tesco club card to ease round the edge to pop the clips, some times a sharp tug can pull it apart.

Which laptop is it I might be able to help with the specifics.

Thanks M8. Actually, it's a Qosmio F20-137. I've been googling around but could'nt find any dismantling instruction for this specific laptop, that means, even toshiba site itself, of which i'm a member, could'nt even help except advising me to take a new one instead.

It has an Intel® Pentium® M processor 740 but could'nt find any info on the board. So, I guess, if I do replace the CPU, then, I need to replace the mobo as well. Is that right? or the mobo can take any CPU as long as its design for mobile board?
