My dad has kindly given me a work mates laptop to fix. neither know anything at all about computers. Description of problem was "tried connecting a printer up and now it doesnt work". When i tried to power it up the green power light shows and thats as far as it gets no bois screen nothing. A local computer shop the guy took it to said it was the motherboard and was gonna cost £270+labour to fix. If it is indeed the motherboard how easy is it to swap out. p.s. its an acer dont have the model number to hand.

At most its an hour job if your first time, just keep all the screws in order as you take them out. Be careful with cable connectors and take your time, don't force any connectors.
