Hello0

I have ripped a old laptop monitor off and was wondering if its possible to wire up a normal VGA connector to it so it can be used on a desktop PC? Also what can i do about the power connections aswell?

Anyone have any ideas or experience doing this sort of thing?

That screen is not going to give you much in the way of resolution etc as its of an old tecra. You would be better binning it and buying a cheap 15" lcd. You would need the invertor board with the screen too to run it and a way of stepping the voltage to match what was going into the laptop something like 19v iirc.

Its just a panel without a controller, you cant connect it directly to a VGA connector. You would need to buy a controller board which costs more than a cheap monitor. Theres a good reason why youve not seen it done before ;)
