Alright, I have a semi-decent Samsung laptop that's served me well recently and has become far and away my main computer. I also have a desktop that's rounding 7 years old that just seems to be taking up room on my desk now.

I'd be up for getting rid of all of it but I have a big 24 inch monitor and some speakers etc. that I would want to keep. At work we have laptops but use secondary monitors and whatnot and I'd like a setup like that ideally.

The setups at work are just stands and you plug all the cables in every time you wanna use the other monitor (so at least 3 times a day) but I'd prefer some sort of mount where my keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, printer etc. are all already plugged in and I can just click my laptop in and it will power it as well as split the screens and let me use my peripherals.

Does anyone have that sort of setup or know if I can get one for a decent price?

Cheers

You just need to check if your Laptop is compatible, I have a HP laptop and mine is sitting in my locker!

It's a Samsung NP550p5c I think, or at least that's what it says on the bottom.

That one linked above only has one compatible product and it's not this.

Is there not one that I could get that would be a bit more universal so if I traded up in another 6 months or so I could still use it or are they model-specific?

HP tends to fit all models as there is a slider which moves to allow smaller laptops to fit.

Majority of laptops which has use of a docking station tends to be business laptops.
