Just a quick one, someone may have heard of this issue before.

My daughter has a Toshiba Equium laptop, which over the past 3 or 4 weeks has developed a problem with the mouse pad. When it's powered via battery, the mouse works fine. When powered via AC, the cursor jumps around on screen erratically when you try to move it.

Anyone able to hazard a guess at this? Any help would be appreciated.

TIA.

Could it possibly be a grounding wire has come unattached making it receive slight discharges from the mains resulting in the laptop thinking its kinetic input ?

dont know too much about laptops so cant really advise.

an issue with the poweradapter most likley

I brought two cheap OEM chargers from ebay, both of them caused the mouse pointer to jump about - the closer the laptop was to the charger block the worse it was...

maybe try another charger - borrow one (if you can) to see if it helps... also try putting it as far from the laptop as possible
