My friend told me last night that her mouse pad wont work when she taps it.

Ive had a look around but i dont know how to make it work, her settings wont open on her mouse device hardware screen in control panel, she can change the speed of the mouse, pointers etc but no device settings.

She can move her mouse and that, but she cant tap the pad to open things any more, heres the error she gets when pressing "settings":

c:\windows\system32\shell32.dll,control_rundll "c:\ windows\system32\main.cpl",mouse"

Screenshots:

Error message and the Device manager.

Cheers,

James.

Device manager shows as much..

I had MSCONFIG open, looked for a boot file that apparantly isnt loading, quick google search told me this, but the file is there apparantly and loaded.

So i dont know what else to do.

Infact, ill get her to reinstall drivers, see how that does.
