My wife needs a laptop for remote working using "LogMeIn" software (https://secure.logmein.com/). This allows her to use her work PC from home.
The specialist software she uses at work is ideally run at a (low) screen res of 1024x768. However LogMeIn also uses screen real estate for various controls which means the minimum screen height in pixels she can use is 1024 otherwise the image of the remote screen becomes fuzzy. On our fixed home PC the image is fine on a screen with 1280x1024 resolution, but I am struggling to locate a laptop with a screen with a pixel height of 1024 that is not mind bogglingly expensive.
Most laptop vendors concentrate on screen size and aspect ratio with the screen's actual resolution buried in the specs, if it is there at all. Pretty well all of them are [something]x900, which is not enough.
It does not need to be a performance monster (no need for mega-fast processor, gaming graphics or huge hard drive - 128gb will do). The laptop / battery do not need to be particularly portable / long lasting either as it will just be used around the house near to an electrical socket. More of a moveable PC that can be packed away.
Can one of you lovely people point to a Laptop make and product line that offers a screen height of at least 1024 pixels at around the £500 - £600 price bracket?
