Laptop Not Booting

Hi,

I am trying to repair a friends laptop, which is not booting.

I have remove the Memory, CPU Celeron M and replaced, with still same issues. Should I get a series of bleeps when the CPU chip is not installed / memory? When removed and powered on, not a singlwe bleep. All lights come on laptop, execpt unable to toogle the caps lock key etc. Blank screen at all times even when connected to external monitor.

Any ideas?

Faulty board? Worth trying a new Celeron M chip?

What brand of laptop?

All lights lit up constantly on boot on an HP for instance means faulty memory.

from what i know laptops dont usually have beep codes, probably best to try and contact the company who made the laptop.
