Laptop not connecting to wifi network

Ive just purchased a new budget laptop and im having problems connecting up to my router. Its a Fujitsu siemens amilo li 1718, 1.73 dc cpu, 1 gb of mem and 120gb hd. Everytime i try and scan for my network it says non found but its deffo there as it works with othe pc's and my phone. This is the first time ive used vista so im not too clued up! its the premium version. Cheers fellas

I take it that it came pre installed with vista?

Do you know what wireless chipset you have, or is it an extra card?

Its a Atheros AR5007eg wireless network adaptor which is built in to the laptop fella

Its probably way off the mark but Fujitsu's commonly have an on/off switch for wireless - tried that?

yeah tryed that, it just aint finding any networks. Got me stumped, any other ideas people?

Is your SSID set to broadcast, or is it hidden? Could be that.
