I was using my HP laptop on my lap, put it to one side, and when I returned it was no longer working. It has no power, no lights on, and will not switch on.
My immediate thought was that it must be the DC input as they are easily broken. However, having given it some more thought, if that was the case, the laptop could have continued to work on battery power.
So my question is, would a broken DC input stop the laptop from powering on completely, even on battery power?
If not, any suggestions as to what may be the cause, or how to diagnose it, would be welcome.
Thank you in advance for any response.
