All over.
Strange problem. No idea why it's started doing it. Anyways, I turned my laptop on and it posted fine but crashes on the Windows loading screen. The whole laptop stops responding (keys [num lock, caps etc.] don't respond, the little switch which turns off the screen doesn't respond). Power button don't work. The HDD LED is on constantly throughout this. All I can do is pull the mains out. When I turn it back on it it goes to the boot screen saying:

Windows didn't start properly, etc. Options are, safe mode etc. Normal windows running or last known config. Choose any options and it will stop responding like above.

Another strange thing is that the laptop remains cool.

Anyone help please?? :(

Have you tried to change the boot sequence in BIOS and boot from a Windows recovery CD or installation CD?

Yeah, I used the recovery feature on the windows CD, but now when it tries to boot up it comes up with a message saying that the system file is missing or corrupt. And now I can't use my WinXP CD because it's an upgrade version. When booting with CD it appears as if the original WinXP OS has gone.

Try safemode?

Did the same thing as before except you could see the console (files being loaded then it froze as before.
