Hey...got a little problem which i need sorting prompto...hopefully someone can shed some light!

I live in a house with 3 floors...the walls are quite thick so the internet connection isnt the strongest through the house. My bedroom is on the top floor so my connection cuts out frequently. The router i have is a standard 54Mbs one...i was wondering whether buying a stronger signalled wireless adapter for my laptop would stop the connection problems.

Maybe this adapter:

Cheers...any advice is very much appreciated!

if you did get that wireless adapter you would need a 'N' router to give you better signal strength and speed.

Thankyou mate....did'nt realise the two went hand in hand.

Will order a new router aswell..;)

or your could get a signal booster... most routers support the feature (but check first) - so a cheapish cable router might do the trick...

its also worth trying a different wireless channel

a wireless N router can give you a better wireless G signal. Set up one recently for someone (wireless N) and their wireless G machines got a better signal (from 0 to 1 bar to 2 to 3 bar for 1 laptop)..

I assume in that case the laptop was able to give off a strong signal but the router was unable to recieve it properly... (so changing the router for better one helped)
