laptop OS adviceHu

Hi all,

Figured out my mums laptop has a borked HDD, im about to order a new one from OCUK and i was wandering about the OS.

All she has is the original Toshiba rescue disks and a CD with XP service pack 2 on it.

Laptop wont run Vista, i would personally run a Liinux Distro however i doubt my mum would appreciate that. Am i going to have to purcahse a new version of XP OEM? or will Toshiba provide me with an OEM install? laptops is over 2 years old.

The recovery CD on my Acer recovered the partitions too, so you might be ok. If it doesn't work don't buy another OS, just use a normal Windows XP install CD and use the license number on your mums laptop.
