hi huys ive got a hp pavilion dv6500 ....have mega problems with it not going into bios or windows and i think it could be temperature related the last time i got it on the cpu temps were 55c idle is this normal?

thanks in advance

Grab a can of compressed air and blow out the vents.

Are you getting any display at all though? The pavilion's are know for having problems with dry solder joints on their video chips.

ive just completely stripped it and cleaned it all with tooth brush and hoover lol , it gets to the hp logo and occasionally will loads windows or bios but not very often

wow just turned it on straight into windows run hw monitor again and now 34/35 idle :D

I have clean one of those of laptop not so long ago for my mate. When you strip your did you clean and change thermal paste for CPU and GPU as from factory they did a poor job of applying it. If you didnt you have to as your laptop will die from overheating sooner or later.
