Might sound a ood question, but just wondered if its possiable to plug a cat5 cable from my laptop to my PC and be able to surf the net that way? The reason I ask is that I cant get my USB wifi adaptor to run in win7 on my PC, so wondered if this would work.

I would just plug a cat5 cable straight into my router but I havent go on long enough, and cant move my router.

I know this sounds dumb, but other than this I will just get a new USB adaptor I guess.

It's more trouble than it's worth - just buy a longer cable or a new adapter.

its called Internet connection sharing, google it
but you cant use a normal cat 5 cable, you need a crossover network cable..

True, but a lot of modern kit is auto port sensing so it will probably work.
