Laptop performance deteriorating

Bought my laptop in May last year so its now just over a year old, here are the specs:

Windows Vista home premium 32bit
model: Samsung r610
Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 @ 2.00GHz
3GB memory
DirectX 10
NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS

Ok now my problem is gaming, mainly when playing counterstrike source. When I first bought this laptop it would run source fine with about 60-100fps all around. Now I am barely getting 40fps in the video stress test and when I join a real server it goes as low as 10-15 and hovers between 20-40fps. I have noticed that my laptop gets quite hot (not enough to shut itself down) TAT(thermal analysis tool) tells me that the CPU temperature is at an average of 78degrees.

I've tried cleaning the fan I took the whole laptop appart and cleaned it from dust, still giving me poor performance and it still gets very hot. I also updated my graphics drivers and tried using a strong FPS config for counterstrike still no success.

Is it time to buy a new laptop? feels like i've been ripped off if these laptops dont last more than a year :/ spent £600 on this system hoping it would see me through university.

Any help/suggestions are appreciated, many thanks.

is this problem with all apps/games or just CS:S? arent all the CS:S servers running slow since the new patch? so ive heard anyway.

It happens with all games, I just used CSS as an example because its the one I play the most

Well I was never fond of Vista as it just clogs up all the time. Being a student you can pick up an upgrade of Win 7 for around £30. Could also try buying a laptop cooler to keep the temps down.
