Laptop Problem

My wifes laptop is no longer showing her CD drive. She was using it yesterday and when she went to show a client a file on the disc drive it said that this drive was not attached. She tried searching for it on the hard drive, but its showing as not having a disc drive.

Is it likely that its just a loose cable, or could it be something else? Any ideas?

I'd be going for loose cable, have you tried searching for nre hardware? Was it working ok before or has it been a bit dodgy?
