Laptop Problem

Hi..
When i turn my laptop off and go back to it and turn it back on it restarts but sometimes gets stuck on the welcome screen.. Other times it will boot up properly but says i will have to change the date and time to the current date and time. I have ran i memtest and has passed that. At the moment i am running a hdd regenertor test to see if theres bad sectors on the hdd causing this problem. If any one has any suggestions please reply as this is getting annoying now haha. thanks

Is it quite old? Sounds like the motherboard battery might be dead.

ye its not the newest a compaq n610c it hard to change them in a laptop?
