Laptop Processors

Im getting a new laptop but looking at the processors Im a bit confused. What is the difference between the Intel core duo T2050 and T5500 and how do they compare performance wise with desktop processors?

Any help greatly appreciated.

first is yonah, second is merom which is better clock for clock and costs around the same I have the t7200
