Laptop RAM Upgrade Question

My missus has a HP DM1-1020ea laptop that she still loves. She needs more storage space so my first thought was to get her an external drive. Then I thought upgrade the internal drive instead, and the RAM.

For the drive I thought the Seagate SSHD 1tb would be a good choice?

As the original sticker showing the Windows key has worn I thought I'd use cloning software. Never used any before, what's the best to use?

Regarding the RAM, her laptop came with 3gb installed. This was a 1gb and a 2gb stick. The laptop can take 5gb max. I wondered if I can simply take the 2gb stick out and replace with a 4gb stick?

The original sticks are 10600, the 4gb for sale on Overclockers is 10660.

As I right in thinking this will run fine, albeit at the lower clock speed?

Thanks in advance,
David

You can get the key if you install Speccy, this lets you see the key installed :) under the Operating System header :)

Should be fine wrt the ram, it should down clock to the correct speed. I think 4gb might be the max, don't quote me tho :)
