laptop RAM

i want to upgrade my ram from 1gb DDR SDRAM 3200 to 2GB.

My question is, can i use DDR2... it may seem thick, and i put my hands up, but DDR IS MUCH more expensive than DDR2. i guess i'm hoping it's backward compatible...?

I'm afraid not. DDR2 won't fit into a DDR1 slot.

damn. i was really hoping it might just... as it's laptop memory and they might just be the same slot size but just different chips.

well that now means i can only be 1Gb for the moment then... not both at once. woo....
