Can anyone recommend a good quality laptop suitable for business purposes? It needs to cost under £500 and have a long battery life. It's for a female colleague, so it shouldn't be too big/heavy. At the moment i'm considering a Toshiba L300, but it only has a battery life of 2.5hrs, so i'm still on the hunt for something with a bit more life. Any suggestions?

Laptops which are light (<2kg) and long battery life (5-6hrs) will cost at least £600
Samsung Q210 or Q45, Dell will cost way over £600. Asus F9E (£533) but the battery on that is very poor.

Very hard to find something for £500 at the moment.

Yep, i've noticed the same unfortunately, but £500 really is the max available. I was looking for a laptop with 1gig ram and a decent processor (nothing too powerful as i know this will sap the battery life)...the search continues......

DUN DUN DUN!!!!

Samsung x22!!! i got one from a big department store (probably counts as a competetor...) for £499 (reduced from £899 i think) and the batter lasts a fair few hours, has an intel t7500, 2 gig of ram, 160gig hard drive and an ati 2400 chip :)

It also has one of the nicest keyboards iv ever used :)

had a look, but seems a bit too much for what we need. Cheers for the suggestion anyway.
