Laptop recommendations? (sorry!)

Firstly, let me apologise for what must be such a common question on the forum, however as an individual user, with my own specific needs, i couldn't find anything using the search function.

Ok, to the matter at hand. I've decided to buy a laptop - first time, always desktops before - and i'm unsure as to what exactly i should look for. My needs for the laptop are fairly basic: i want it for basic home office use (I get Microsoft Office package through work, so don't need this pre-installed), surfing the web, occasional downloads and a LOT of Football Manager.

From my own research, i thought i wanted an i7 processor, however this might be way OTT for my requirements. I had been looking at a Lenovo Y580, however i think that, again, this probably is completely over-specced for what i need. I also dislike how, at its price level, it doesn't look like much at all. Glare screen, plastics etc. Underneath, though, it seems like an excellent machine.

So, my needs:

Essentials: fast/very fast processor, good/excellent build quality - tight hinges etc, good keyboard/touchpad, quick boot times, reliable brand, good customer service.

Desired: Backlit keyboard, smart appearance, not easily marked, matte finish.

Unnecessary: brilliant graphics card (as stated, only gaming will be Football Manager), whatever other extras cost the world but i won't use.

As my post probably shows, i'm relatively clueless when it comes to computers. The number of different processor cores/names etc is hard to get to grips with, along with all the other 'techy' stuff. If anyone could link me to some recommendations, that'd be brilliant. Budget is probably anything from £400-£800 for the right machine.

I won't get a chance to check online until after work, so hopefully i'll come back and all my prayers will be answered! Thanks.

Discrete graphics can add a lot to the price.

On this site there is: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=LT-088-MS&groupid=959&catid=1828 this quad core CPU with dedicated graphics.

OCUKs Ultranotes are excellent value for money

The only problem is that they only have built-in graphics however if you are only playing football manager then I don't think that game uses any significant graphics? So should be fine.
