I'm off to my first choice Uni this september! woo! anyway, i'm asking you guys as i brought a laptop this time last year and still have it, the battery is dead and the cooling design is appauling as its under the laptop so when you have it on your lap for longer than an hour or so it will overheat and turn off. It's a Toshiba Tecra A4 - a problem model from what i am now aware.
Anyway my budget is £800 and thats a strict £800!
I don't care about screen size, it can be tiny or large, but preferably something i can carry about without breaking my back.
I would like to have a battery for 3hours or more if i can, i'd like a Core Duo or Core Duo 2 but would stretch to having a Pentium-M and would like a dedicated graphics card, it doesnt have to be amazing but an ATI X700/Nvidia 6600/6800/ATI X1600 would be nice.
Can anyone recommend anything?
I did find a Asus A7G:
Core Duo 1.83Ghz/1GB DDR2/ATI X1600 256MB/100GB/Wireless/17" LCD for £754 Incl Vat but all reviews say the battery life is appauling.
