A friend is looking for a new laptop around the £500 mark. I'm not really into laptops so rather than trawl through loads of reviews etc I thought I would ask for some pointers first.
He mainly uses it for sound production, stuff like Ableton and Reason so I'm thinking the main points are going to be CPU, memory, and storage? (all his sound equipment is external so not an issue with the laptop itself.
He doesn't play any games so onboard is fine and battery isn't likely to be the primary concern given it's likely to be on AC most of the time.
So anyone have any suggestions for something suitable, ideally a few different ones so I can have a read through them and see what I think might suit him?
