My laptop broke a few months ago and I need a replacement.
Literally all I use it for is browsing the web in bed/lounge and using it for some basic Open Office files(not much typing just viewing). The laptop got very hot and was to large and heay for just browsing. So I was thinking about getting a tablet pc 12" or maybe something like the asus eeeeeee..

What would you guys suggest?

Just mentioned this in another thread but I swear by my Toshiba Satellite.
13.3" inch screen and solid as a rock and as far as laptops go this is the best keyboard I have used on one.

Can't fault it and when this one eventually dies I will stick to Toshibas....okay slightly more expensive that most of the laptops but once you have one you know why :)

Think it was in this years tests that Toshiba and SOny were top for laptop build quality and how long they last.

I would go with the Asus EeePc, I had a chance to play with one recently and they are great little things but still quite powerful. I have the EeeBox which is the EeePc in a box (Mobile Atom CPU) with no screen which I'm going to be using as a media center soon, I do have a PS3 but the EeeBox only uses a 6th of the power which I like. You won't be running Vista on it but who cares for a netbook, XP or Linux do the job fine.
