Laptop runs hot!

Hi,

I have 2 Dell Inspiron 1720 laptops.
they both seem to run at the same ish temps.
But one seems to get hot quick, even on idle. then the fans come on and off all the time. but like i said, the temps are the same as the other one. the other one dont get hot like the other one.. confussed as it's a pain really lol

Anyone got any ideas?
I was thinking of replying some paste?

You could try that tho the best thing to do is remove the fan and clean out the heatsinks.

Strip the laptop
Clean heatsink and fan with paint brush
Apply MX-4

Check the temps.

also if it still gets hot you can cut the sensor cable so the fan runs at 100% all the time.

my friend had a laptop then it heats up real quick, opened up and saw dust basically covering the whole heat sink
