Laptop screen blue tint?

Hey everyone, so last night while watching a film on my laptop it flickered then everything had a light blue tint and some crazy horizontal lines I think the screen is on it's way out. The laptop is a HP pavillion G6 and i have found a few screens on the bay but i was planning to get a new laptop in a few months anyway. Is it possible to fix the screen or do i just have to take the dive and get another screen?

If anyone has a similar issue for this laptop it turns out the cable that goes from the screen to the back of the laptop was getting compressed under one of the latches. Fixed that and it's all working good.

Thanks for the info. As soon as I read that I assumed it was a graphics card failing!
