This is a weird one. My dad's laptop restarted last night after all the windows updates last night, but today when he turned it on, sometime the screen went dim, similar to when it gets a UAC prompt, except for the mouse cursor which is still bright.
I've checked the power options, its on mains power on high performance and couldn't see anything there which would cause something like this. I'm currently backing things up on the offchance that it is on its way out (Unlikely, but its something I've been meaning to do for a while anyway), but what could have done this? I'm going to reset once I've backed everything up, but if that doesn't work then I'm tempted to try and system restore to before the updates and see if it happens then. If all that doesn't work, I'll hunt down the latest drivers for the HD3650 and try updating those drivers, see if that fixes it.
Has anyone else had any experience with this? Found similar posts on internet forums, but none with actual solutions
Edit: Its running Vista x32
