Laptop Screen - fix?

I bought a Dell X300 off a fellow ocuk member and its great. I've upgraded the memory and hard drive, what's really bugging me is the screen.

I took a picture and tried to show what I mean. The screen does hold its place when opened, but if you move the laptop or touch the screen there is no resistance and it "flaps?" towards you. It doesn't go backwards - just forwards.

[Ignore the cheese & crackers etc]

I've taken it apart using this guide and I can't figure out why there is give there.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the replies guys.

They're dark chocolate so i turned them upside down in disgust!

I had a look online and saw some hinges for sale and they didn't look like the ones I had - then it clicked that i only took out and looked at a hinge - not the part inside the bezel?

Random: (Am tempted to buy an IBM X31)

As for removing the hinges in the bezel/screen thing - is it just a matter of prying off those rubber covers and revealing some screws?

Edit - Yes it is!

I'm wondering if its worth replacing them now.

Oooh i'm going to try that! - Thanks guys

OK - just tried that. No luck - screws were only slightly loose.

I'm tempted to take off the bezel but there is a hairline looking crack on the top right. I'm not sure how deep it is. I don't want to make it worst.

I won a bid on an IBM Thinkpad X31 so i'll be selling this dell x300 - which I will miss!
