Laptop screen hinges.

I have a HP NC2400 laptop, the laptop screen has become quite flimsy when opening and isn't as stiff so doesn't position correctly now.
Is there a way of 'tighting' up the hinges or is it something HP would have to do?

I don't know specifically about that laptop but if it is anything like my 2100 there is a screw covering the laptop hinges, when that is removed it should give you access to the screws to tighten the hinges I believe.

you should contact their support and if its in warrenty demand a replacement. They might take you through steps to try fixing it yourself which is what you want anyway. I had this issue on my laptop which turned out to be a known issue with the actual design but they were unwilling to replace it at first classing it as 'user damage'.
