laptop screen not working?

hi all ive got a prob on my laptop its a hp easy note e6 if i turn it on with a moniter attacted to it its ok so i know the graphic card is working but if i use the lcd screen on the laptop its very dark an can only see it if i tilt the screen away from me even then its not good.

i have tryed adjusting the brightness via fn key then hitting the button to up it but its on max.

i think its the screen itself ive got it in bits at the mo so im gonna check for bad connections etc.

any ideas please would be great.

sorry guys been doing some browsing i think its the inverter they state the same prob im having with that device failing eg

low brightness
just able to make out logos and some text

allso could be the fluresence tube

damn looks expenses realy £40 for inverter .
