Laptop Screen problem

My wee sister has a Compaq laptop and the screen keeps going black. She has to move the screen a few times before it settles and most of the time, she has to sit with the screen at a funny angle otherwise it would cut off.

I've noticed that anytime the screen is moved, it makes the hardware disconnect sound and then the connect sound (vista).

Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong or how I could fix this? Sorry I don't have the model number of the laptop.

If you're lucky there may be a connector loose. Try opening it up and having a look.

Sounds like a loose connection or a break in the cable, the ding dong could be the web cam disconnecting as it's basically a usb device.
