Guys, have a laptop that has a cracked screen. I have removed it and it is model LP156WH2(TL)(AA).

Now I can grab a new one off the bay for £53, but I have found another model which is a lot cheaper, it is LP156WH2(TL)(E1).

Am I right to assume that the '(AA)' and '(E1)' are stepping or revision codes, similar to CPUs etc, and that these will be basically the same screens, or do I need the exact matching model number?

When looking at the back of your original screen is the connector on the bottom left or bottom right?

What make is the laptop? As for some laptops they can come with either screen, mainly HP/Compaq but I have seen some Asus like this also.

Also you will most likely not be able to get one with the exact model, all of the ones on ebay will be compatibles and there is nothing wrong with that but make sure they are of a high quality, check out lcds4u as I they offer a zero dead pixel policy.

You cant go on model number alone for these screens as sometimes they release 2 different versions under the exact same model.

They should be compatible but it depends what the company has in stock, I know the ones from lcds4u will be correct, I think they have a telephone support number you can ring to confirm.
