I’ve been thinking about giving this a go for a bit. I e watched a few videos on it….

It is as simple as find the right size screen with the same plug in the same place and your good…

My laptop as a 1080p 260hz screen but I’d love a 1440p 120(ish) screen

My model of laptop did have an option with a 1440p 120hz screen… so can I just grab one and we are good?

If it’s that simple I think for £60 it’s a right upgrade for a 17.3in laptop

If your exact model had this as an option, then its quite likely to be straightforward, but there is a change this was coupled with another upgrade (say extra discreet GPU) and maybe different mobo. What make are we talking about?

Yer that’s what they say. But where’s the controler/motherboard for the monitor.

Like would it just alto pick up 1440p/120hz?

My laptop as a 3070 8gb

Laptop is a PC specialist iconic/Clevo PC70DR
10870h/3070

The cpu/gpu can’t drive 1080 @260fps. Bit when docked with a 1440p screen depending on the game I get 60 to 120fps

If the connection is same pinout etc. it will autodetect or worst case you will need to change it in screen settings in windows.

Yer I’ve found the screen from the other laptop with the same 40 pin plug in the same place, I just thought it’s not going to be that easy. It just sounds too easy

It all depends on the manufacturer and model/laptop itself. Years ago I used to have to source replacement 15.6" screens from places to replace my sister's laptop screen. For some reason she was very prone to damaging her laptop and mobile. Was a Sony VAIO laptop and was surprisingly simply to swap out once you can get the casing open.

Afraid I have no experience with the ************ laptops, but found "Clevo PC70DR Full-HD 240hz Replacement Laptop Screen" as a 17.3" replacement screen. Before ordering I would just try and make sure the exact models match up and the diagram showing the placement of the connector/cabling.
