I've had lubuntu installed on an old laptop for a while now, how would i go about optimizing it further like removing unneeded processes and should i boot into command line, if so how do i do it?
There a ways to do it, essentially you just need to prevent gdm from loading on startup or updating lightdm.conf to not startup. That said you are probably a lot better off using ubuntu server if you are using the laptop as server:
